Sadly that’s because things rarely turn out that way irl. But even just reading a caption like this when it does go nicely, well it’s enough to make me tear up! I came out as trans as a teen and my own sis disowned me. I mean I get it, to her I was ruining her life branding her family a freak, etc. It’s only been the last few months where she’s even attempted to get along with me. 20 years later!
She won’t admit this to me but has to my mother plenty of times now. “She’s even more of a girl than I am…seriously she makes me feel like I should be the trans one!” So, while being caught or coming out rarely goes as nicely as this caption portrays it to. Have faith that being yourself will show the doubters they are wrong. That despite the walk through hell transgendered people have to go through now days, that on the other end? It’s worth every second, every challenge and every heartbreak. 💕
